Definition

The unique number assigned to the loan of objects from outside the organisation. The number should also refer to a file containing written documentation about the loan.

How to record

May include: a prefix to distinguish it from other reference numbers; the year; and a running number.

Use

The same Loan in reference number can be used for one or more objects loaned together, but a loaned object can only have one Loan in reference number at any one time.
