Counter terrorism protective security advice for visitor attractions

This resource is related to the Accreditation Standard 3.2 A risk assessment of security arrangements, ‘You should get security advice for all the buildings and sites that the museum occupies. You should do this at least every five years, ….’

The document from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office provides guidance for visitor attractions for effective contingency planning against terrorism. It aims to enable planning, awareness and, in the event of an accident, the effective response of staff on site to manage the safety of visitors and staff. Much of what the guidance contains is common sense, however, the context, the principles, and the processes that are recommended are derived from the experience of experts in the industry.
