Case study: Cumbrian museums badly affected by floods

Following unusually bad weather in November 2009, several Cumbrian museums were badly affected by floods. These resources from BBC News discuss the collections affected, which included Wordsworth House and Armitt Museum, as well as several National Trust properties.

This case study is relevant to Accreditation requirement 2.8 Expert assessment of security arrangements: ‘The museum must obtain expert security advice for stored and exhibited collections at least every five years, and earlier if needed. It must plan to act on the advice over time.’
