The Person giving final approval for a procedure to take place.
How to record
It will be necessary to use several units of information, including, for example, a surname and a forename. The descriptions for these information units are gathered together under the Person heading. The organisation may have standard forms of names for use.

Use in association with information group headings to record the name of the person who gave authorisation for a procedure, eg [Loan out] Authoriser. Use with Authorisation date to record when the authorisation was given. Note separate units for Acquisition authoriser and Amendment history authoriser.
