Collections Trust Award 2020-21 terms and conditions
By making a submission to the Collections Trust Award 2020-21 entrants confirm that they have read and agree to accept these terms and conditions. The information on the award announcement page, the submission form and these terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the promoter and award entrant.
The promoter of the award is Collections Trust. The promoter’s registered office is Collections Trust, Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6LA. The promoter’s company registration number is: 1300565. The promoter’s registered charity number is: 273984.
The award is open to Accredited museums and museums formally working towards Accreditation in the UK (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).
The award is not open to museums that might pose a conflict of interest, for example museums that employ a judge.
The judges will take into consideration the overall duration of the project, but a significant part of the project or activity must have been undertaken during 2020.
Only one submission per museum is permitted. A trustee, member of staff or volunteer may make a submission on behalf of their museum. There is no charge to enter the award.
A submission can only be made online using the submission form, which must be completed in full with aim, summary and impact descriptions and all details.
Any incomplete submission forms may be ineligible. Confirmation of submission is not confirmation of receipt. The promoter does not accept responsibility for technical issues resulting in submissions being lost or going astray.
The judges’ decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into with respect to the judges’ decision.
The prize is £1000. The prize must be spent on a collections management activity. The museum must agree a short description of this activity with the Collections Trust before the prize can be released.
The promoter will use the personal data submitted in order to administer the award and in line with the privacy notice available on the Collections Trust website.
The promoter will use the content submitted, including the names of the winning museum and any commended museums, in order to administer the award, and may use it for promotional purposes, including on the Collections Trust website and social media, and including, but not restricted to, blogs, case studies and the provision of resources for the museum sector.
The promoter will use the image submitted, and any other additional images submitted for promotional purposes, including on the Collections Trust website and social media, non-commercially and acknowledged with the credit line submitted.
The name of the winning museum and any commended museums will be published on the Collections Trust website in March 2021.
The award opens on 26 November 2020. The deadline for submissions is midnight on 22 January 2021. Entries submitted after midnight on 22 January 2021 will be ineligible.
The promoter reserves the right not to make an award and in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control, the promoter reserves the right to alter or discontinue the award with no notice.
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the parties agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
