Continuous Professional Development (CPD) describes an approach to your own learning, which helps you to develop the professional skills and knowledge you need in your working life. This guide outlines CPD planning in the context of collections management skills; however the concepts are equally applicable to other areas of museum work.

Arts Council England has produced this resource to directly support museums to meet the Accreditation Standard. It is applicable to all independent museums across the UK and provides information and advice about the Museum Mentor scheme.
