Modes Compact

Modes Compact is the entry level version of the Modes collections management system.

Modes Compact supports SPECTRUM primary procedures to Accreditation standards:

Object Entry, Acquisition, Cataloguing, Object Exit, Loans in, Loans out, and Location and movement control.

Can be installed as single-user program only.

Public access is available through an optional web interface including plugins for WordPress.

Minimum hardware requirement

Client: Pentium 4 600 MHz processor with 512Mb RAM

Database architecture

Single user system with embedded server using NexusDB database.

Public access support

Modes offers hosting of Modes data for access through a bespoke website managed by Modes; or through a WordPress interface which can be managed directly by the user.

Backup support

Modes offers a range of backup options when closing down a file – Full backup, Incremental backup and Close without backing up. Backup directories can be customised to chosen Backup location.

Data auditing and cleaning

Modes provides a built in audit trail – when created, when modified, created by, modified by.  A range of data cleaning tools exist within the program.

Single user cost

£500 +VAT to purchase Modes Compact.

12 months support is included in this price.

Five user cost

£2000 +VAT (5 standalone users).   12 months support is included in this price. Additional user licences can be purchased for £250 +VAT per licence.

Special features

Modes Compact provides support for object cataloguing, with templates for archaeology, books, decorative art, fine art, geology, natural history, photographs and social history records.

Links to procedure files for recording the management of SPECTRUM primary procedures.

As well as images, any multimedia or document type can be linked to the database. Can be installed in standalone configuration only.

All record templates, indexes and validation settings are predefined and cannot be configured by the user.

Soon to include spell-checking and drag-and-drop attachment of multimedia.
