Security advice for architects and planners

This practical guide gives advice for architects and planners in the design of buildings which house museum collections, with particular reference to the security of the collections.

This resource will help you with Museum Accreditation requirement 2.8: Expert Assessment of security arrangements. This requirement states that a ‘museum must obtain expert security advice for stored and exhibited collections at least every five years, and earlier if needed. It must plan to act on the advice over time.’

Collections Trust security resources have been updated and expanded with the support of Arts Council England and the Association of Chief Police Officers.
