Practical advice for the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict

These guidelines from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are intended to support States in the implementation of a system for the protection of cultural property. They address the definition of cultural property, give an overview of the instruments of international humanitarian law which protect cultural property, and expose the protection provided by these instruments.

This resource provides further guidance to the 1954 Hague Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.
