The Collections Trust Award recognises the often-unsung achievements of those who manage the collections that lie at the heart of all museums. This year, for the first time, that well-deserved recognition comes with a cash award of £2,000 for the winning museum.
The theme of the 2017 Collections Trust Award is the same as our conference: pulling together. We want to celebrate projects that show what can be achieved when everyone in a museum – from the governing body to all levels of staff and/or volunteers – works as one to tackle a collections management challenge.
The winning museum will receive £2,000 to spend on an agreed collection management activity. A representative from the winning museum will also receive a free place at our 2017 conference in York on 21 September and be invited to present their project at the event.
Entering is simple. Use this online form to describe a collections management project or activity that was either completed in the last twelve months or is happening now with demonstrable progress you can point to. Anyone involved in your project or activity – whether on the governing body, staff or volunteer – can enter on behalf of your museum.
