A digitised collection is a flexible resource for any museum and can be used in a variety of ways, from engaging online audiences to enhancing catalogue information for collections management activities. In this workshop, we will explore what needs to be considered when undertaking a digitisation project and how to manage the digital assets we create.
Sarah Brown, Collections Trust, will also introduce the new Reproduction procedure from the recently updated SPECTRUM standard, SPECTRUM 5.0. This procedure helps ensure information about reproductions, whether digital or physical, is linked to the original objects.
Fiona Marshall, digital heritage consultant, will show some examples of how digitised collections have been used for engagement with different audiences and we’ll discuss how to plan and test for effective engagement.
